Last weekend the Friends received information that motor bikes were heard on the reserve late one evening in one of the copses.
This was investigated by one of the Friends and they identified that a track had been made through the copse. He was not sure if motor bikes or BMX bikes had been using it but they had worn substantial grooves in the ground. This area is very close to where we have Bluebells, Wood Anemones and Broad-leaved Helleborines growing during the year so we may have to block this path to protect the area and create another: this is how one job runs into another.

This week’s work party looked at the copse after we finished working on the old Hazel hedge line in the north west of Lambrok Meadow. We decided that as there were Ash trees affected by Ash Die- Back along the path we would fell them into the path to discourage anyone from cycling in this area.

It looks messy intentionally. We are hoping to discourage people from cycling here. If we succeed and we do not see any further damage, some time in the future, we will be able to restore the path for walkers.
