Many a cold dog-walker from Southwick Country Park ends their walk cuddling hot chocolate in Hope Nature Centre’s tearooms without realising that the two are completely separate organisations. We merely share an address.
The centre has a new manager, Anya Johnson, who has sent this message:
“Hope Nature Centre Ltd is a charity devoted to providing work placements for young adults with learning disabilities. Our young adults/ service volunteers work with us in our busy tearoom and animal park where they are valued as part of our hardworking team.
Hope Nature Centre’s animal park and tearooms are open to the public all year round.
The animal park opens at 10am, the last entry at 3.30pm, with the park closing at 4pm. In the animal park you will find alpacas, emus goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits guinea pigs and tortoises among other animals and it’s just £9 for a family of four.
Our tearooms, are open from 8.30am until 4.30pm with delicious hot food served from 8.30 until 3.30pm
We have a busy, fun volunteer/events schedule, to help run our charity; which includes Work Wednesdays, where volunteers can turn up and help out with a variety of tasks around the animal park.
Our May Fete is on 20th May and is always lots of fun. If you would like to help run one of our stalls or run your own stall please contact the centre. We also have Mother’s Day Lunch and Afternoon Teas and Easter Egg Hunts to look forward to. Lots going on and lots to get involved with. We look forward to meeting you soon, from all of us at Hope Nature Centre.
