A cold and a very damp day greeted the Friends of Southwick Park work party.
Tasks for the morning included the continuation of the haloing and bramble clearing in the bottom section of Sleeper Field, this will bring the hedge line back to it’s original line after years of the creeping brambles. The photos show just how much was cleared today, one more morning’s concerted effort should bring us up to the entrance into The Race.
One task completed before we arrived in Sheep Field was a repair of some fence damage in the copse adjacent to the car park, another being the clearing up and removal of polystyrene granules kindly dumped by an inconsiderate somebody on the bottom path of the Arboretum.
As usual, our very diligent Pat carried our the litter clearing of the park.
