Asda’s Community Room

By Sarah Marsh

The Friends of Southwick Country Park and a member of the Wiltshire Countryside Team have a bi-monthly get together.  These meetings last about two hours and are always held on the last Tuesday afternoon of every other month.

We discuss past, present, and future projects, fundraising and promotion of the Park and volunteers. We also liaise with a representative, Debbie, from Hope Nature Centre and Sean Price from Southwick Park Run.

Until recently these meetings were held in the Council offices at White Horse Business Park but due to closure of those office and there being no available room at County Hall, we had to find an alternative venue.

ASDA came up trumps and we now use their Community Room free of charge.  This is an excellent facility for groups such as ours and we can combine a visit to the shop as well!

We met there for the first time on the last Tuesday in January. Anyone wishing to join the Friends is more than welcome; our next meeting will be on Tuesday, 26th March 2019 in the Community Room.
