Lovely pictures, Julie. Thank you for worrying about all the park users who are stuck indoors.
Thank you Julie, very thoughtful of you.
Thank you Julie. I am really missing the park and I hope the lockdown is lifted before the fritillaries have finished flowering especially as there seem to be many this year.
Fritillaries have complicated life cycles. It can take up to eight years before a seedling finally flowers – and even mature plants can suddenly become dormant for up to three years. This year it looks as though several colonies in the southern part of the park have burst into flower. It might be last year’s long hot summer – or it could be something entirely different. Who knows?
What an attractive gallery of pictures. They are beautifully framed.
