I’m glad kingfishers are still to be seen on the Lambrok. I occasionally saw them on the stream as it runs behind Blind Lane but not for some time. Probably as it has often been dry this year!
My daughter saw a Kingfisher by the Lambrok stream behind our bungalow in Chantry Gardens last week. I also saw one fly from the same bush and head quickly down stream. I clearly saw the red and turquoise colouring. We were very excited!
At this time of year the juvenile kingfishers spread out looking for territory of their own. The species is protected, one of the reasons we are working so hard to protect the stream.
