There are some beautiful butterflies around at the moment but in fewer numbers and varieties than i remember in the past!
Ian conducts regular surveys in the park for Wiltshire Butterfly Conservation: search for TRANSECT using the website’s search button on the main menu. Last year there were a lot of butterflies in the park, this year not so many but the long-term national trend is downwards. The UK is losing butterfly habitat all the time.
Beautiful, here are a few of my not so good attempts taken in the park this weekend.
A peacock and a blue that I am going to forward to Ian because a holly blue has been seen in the park and this might be it.
