What a change from the drenching of last week!
We met up as usual in the car park under a blue sky and warm sunshine. It was good to see Countryside Officer Ali Rasey again.
Gemma Thorp, Vicky’s locum, arrived in the County Council’s Land Rover with the repaired Notice Board door followed by Joan and Patrick who had carried out the repair and improvement. The door’s Perspex had been broken by vandals some weeks ago.

The first task was to fit the repaired Notice Board door, now with resplendent new title bar – Southwick Country Park and Local Nature Reserve – with white lettering on a green background. Fitting was quite a job as the door is heavy and quite high; Joan and Patrick needed the help of both Alan and Phil.
Pat set off with the dogs on her litter pick round, followed a little later by Alan when he had finished helping with the Notice Board; Frank trimmed back overhanging brambles and branches along the hard path; Clive and Sarah went back to tackling the diseased Ash in the copses, joined a little later by Phil.
Coffee was taken in the picnic area, gossip and news exchanged and arrangements made for future tasks.
