Are we saving the wrong bees?

    1. Barbara, I can’t do that because you are a registered user. I think you need to go back to the comments box and click on the little blue W in a circle (just above where it asks for your email address) and log in using either your user name (Lambrok) or your email address. I think you should be able to change your user name there. It might take a couple of days to show up; WordPress moves slowly.
Get back to me if it doesn’t work.
      Suzanne.

      1. I have an idea. 1. Put your comment in the comment box at the bottom of this article; 2. leave the email address box empty or delete your address if it’s already there; 3. put your name in the name box and press POST COMMENT.
I think you will lose your own personal little pattern (it’s called a gravatar) but your comment should appear with your own name.

  1. That was really enlightening and very concerning. What can we do here in our gardens to help wild bees? Barbara Johnson

    1. All the usual Blue Peter stuff: bee hotels, native wildflowers, no pesticides or herbicides. But also (because I know you love a good campaign, Barbara) pressure on the county council to develop local wasteland as wildlife habitat and to wrap their contractors up in wildlife-friendly timetables. Every spring, contractors mow the towpath by the canal at Hilperton and mow off the coltsfoot before it has seeded. It makes me as mad as fire!
