The Garden Birdwatch concerns itself with the most frequently seen species; here are some of the rare Red Listed birds that are resident in, or passing through, the reserve: spotted flycatcher, mistle thrush, greenfinch, skylark and common swift

I’ve taken part in the Big Garden Bird Watch over many years but this year saw the biggest reduction in both numbers and species I’ve ever recorded in my garden. Barbara Johnson
That is so frightening, Barbara. The dawn chorus is fading, too; it should be loud enough at this time of year to wake up.
