Fact of the week

The scientific name for the seven spot ladybird is Coccinella septempunctata; if you had the right wand, a spell like that would put red spots on anything.

  1. Odd how they evolved to look so much like the Harlequin ladybird but with reversed colouring.

    1. There are spotted beetles all over the world; they either share a very old common ancestor or are the production of an evolutionary pressure we haven’t yet understood.
