Here is a fascinating little video of a peacock butterfly emerging from its chrysalis. We know that there are at least two nests of peacock caterpillars in the park so, by the end of July, we should see these beautiful adults.

Southwick Country Park Nature Reserve 
One of the natural worlds little miracles!
Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar breaks down into a kind of soup; inside the soup there are special cells that contain the instructions for building the soup into a butterfly. I am AMAZED by this small fact.
